Café Rich was founded in the year 1908 in the center of Cairo and it is the largest gathering of intellectuals and politicians in the region. The café sits near Talaat Harb Square. It was founded by a German, and sold it in 1914 to Henry Bear whogave the café its name (Rich) . Now Magdy Mikhail own the café , he is the first Egyptian owner of a guardian. The cafe was thhe place where writers and intellectuals such as Naguib Mahfouz, Youssef Idris, and hope Donqol, and Yahya Taher Abdullah, and Salah Sahin, and Tharwat Abaza, Naguib Sorour and Kam
al Mallakh, and others who were keen that they attend Alndaut weekly Naguib Mahfouz meet .
